ARA Board of Directors
The Association of Rice Alumni is governed by a 28-member alumni board, which provides input regarding Alumni Relations operations and programs and serves in an advisory capacity to the Alumni Relations staff. Members of the ARA board represent the alumni body to the university and represent the ARA to its constituents—Rice alumni.
All Rice alumni are eligible to apply and be selected to serve on the alumni board. Board members serve a three-year term and must be committed to dedicating the time and energy necessary to make the ARA a success. Duties include attending triannual board meetings, serving on ARA committees, contributing to the Rice Annual Fund and providing overall support for ARA programs and activities. Applications are made in writing to the nominations committee; for more information, click on ARA Board Applications on the left menu.
Annual Giving
Rice Fund Volunteers are ambassadors for the university, making important connections and encouraging classmates and peers to participate in the university’s tradition of giving back.
Volunteer positions within the Rice Fund provide several great ways to stay in touch with your classmates and peers while making a positive impact on the current student experience at Rice.
Alumni Regional Group Volunteers
Alumni regional group volunteers provide a way for alumni and friends living outside Houston to interact with others in the Rice community and to stay connected. The Association of Rice Alumni, in conjunction with local volunteers, organizes programs and activities for alumni and friends around the nation and internationally. Please find information on all of our alumni groups below. Don’t see your region below or live internationally? Complete the volunteer application form, and a Rice staff member will be in touch with you to discuss how you can get involved.
