Dear Rice Volunteers,
Prior to becoming Rice president in July of this year, I had the great privilege of serving as provost and, before that, as dean of engineering. In each of these roles, I have worked with and learned from so many amazing volunteers, and my appreciation for your efforts has only grown deeper. Thank you sincerely for your service to the university and for enabling greater contributions across education, research and service.
Whether you are a first-time volunteer or have long-established roots at Rice, you are enabling us to grow our impact on the world. This report highlights a sampling of ways that Rice volunteers are helping pursue discovery and innovation, mentoring new generations, creating a more sustainable future, and advancing our dynamic culture. Our volunteer community is truly global, hailing from many states and countries, and it thrives on the individual and collective contributions that fuel the spirit of excellence and sustain our culture of care.
