I have recently discovered a passion for mentoring and learning from others’ experiences. I’m a late Boomer, so I’m curious by how Gen Z think. I like hearing what drives them, what they’re passionate about and where they want to go in life. The Owl Edge Externship gives me a chance to share what I’ve learned while also learning from their enthusiasm and passions. Volunteering provides me the opportunity to become more engaged to Rice University beyond just being a parent.
Regarding the externship program, you will benefit as much or even more than the students who participate. You will make wonderful acquaintances and truly feel involved in the Rice mission.
