International Friends at Rice

International Friends at Rice is an opportunity for an international students and a local family, or Rice community member who travels to Houston frequently, to meet and become friends. Volunteers are asked to meet with their students about 3-4 times during the student's first 6 months at Rice. This volunteer position is open to Rice Alumni, parents, friends and staff. Internship Host

Moody Center for the Arts Volunteer Greeter

The Moody Center for the Arts is looking for volunteers to participate in the life of a vibrant new arts organization and to contribute valuable visitor services to Rice University. Qualified candidates should possess a love and appreciation of the arts, a flexible attitude for dealing effectively with the public, and an understanding that reliability is critical.

To volunteer at the Moody, candidates must make a one-year commitment and be available for two to four shifts each month.

Owl Edge Externship Host

Owl Edge Externships, developed in partnerships with the Initiative for Students and the Center for Career Development, are one to five-day job shadowing experiences designed to give undergraduate students a tangible, realistic idea of a day in the life in your career field. The job shadowing experience may include touring your facility, sharing your career path, observing you at staff or client meetings, interviewing other colleagues, and visiting with the human resource professional to understand career opportunities.
