In what roles have you volunteered for Rice?

Why do you volunteer for Rice?

My experience at Rice was very special to me. I am married to Jennifer Rich Captain who is also a graduate alumni of Rice. We live in Houston and we are close to Rice and we enjoy coming back to campus and being able to help with all the initiatives.

What do you enjoy most about volunteering at Rice?

Being able to make a change to improve the student experience. The students are so appreciative of alumni efforts to support their causes and ideas.

What's a fun Rice fact about you?

I tried out for the football team as a special teams player. I practiced with the team the whole summer and then found out that since I was getting a graduate stipend, I was ineligible to play. However, it was such a great experience for that summer.

Why should others volunteer for Rice?

Rice is a great institution that needs your help on initiatives that are so valuable and successful because we have a good mix of administrators, alumni and students all working together on ideas that benefit students and the Rice community. It is fun, keeps us involved and young.
